# of players: 2 to 5 players
Recommended: Ages 8 and up
Play time: As a family, we played this in 30 – 45 minutes
Style: Tile game – can be cooperative
The game is played by drawing and placing tiles to create a connected scene of roads, castles, cloisters and farmland. Players place tiles one at a time continuing through all the players until the game tiles are all used. On their turn, players can add colored token-shaped men to the tile they placed to claim farm land, be a knight at a castle, a monk at a cloister or a robber on a road. Each of these roles has the potential to earn a particular point value. The player with the most points once all tiles are played is the winner.
There are many expansions to this game. We have enjoyed Inns & Cathedrals.
Last year, a new version of the base game was released that is expanded from the version we have. The base game now includes a river and abbot expansion.
